The Schoeps CCM 22 L is a compact condenser microphone featuring an open cardioid (subcardioid) polar pattern, designed to combine the strengths of both cardioid and wide cardioid microphones. Its directionality is only slightly less than that of the CCM 4 cardioid microphone, while its sonic character is reminiscent of the CCM 21 wide cardioid.
