Schoeps MK 2 S
Schoeps MK 2 S
The Schoeps MK 2 S is a small diaphragm condenser microphone capsule with a true pressure-sensitive (omnidirectional) polar pattern. This capsule has a mild high-frequency response elevation at 0°, which compensates for high-frequency losses caused by an increased diffuse field at medium recording distances. This results in a clearer sound, making the MK 2 S ideal as a main or room microphone, especially in larger spaces.
Key Features
- True Pressure-Sensitive Polar Pattern: The MK 2 S is a true pressure receiver, meaning it captures sound evenly from all directions.
- Mild High-Frequency Response Elevation: The capsule has a mild high-frequency response elevation at 0°, compensating for high-frequency losses caused by an increased diffuse field at medium recording distances.
- Ideal for A/B Stereophony and Decca Tree: The MK 2 S is particularly well-suited for A/B stereophony and classic Decca Tree microphone setups. Together with the KA 40 spherical accessory, it forms a classic Decca Tree capsule.
